Frequently Asked Questions
Our support team is more than happy to answer any and all questions you might have about your tattoo, the studio, your artist, or the process in general. Getting a tattoo is a big decision—we want to make sure you’re comfortable and confident.
In the meantime, here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get.
-
The vast majority of our projects take at least a full day session. For that reason, most of our artists charge a flat rate for the day. Day rates start at $1,200 and vary by artist, but some of our resident artists offer hourly rates for projects that don’t take a full day.
Pricing is determined by a range of factors, including experience, demand, and the expertise required to produce the highest quality art.
We’ll be more than happy to get a quote for you on your project.
-
Our full days are scheduled for 9 hours, but the exact amount of time varies depending on your project.
Before the tattoo starts, you’ll work with your artist to finalize and perfect the design. Your artist will work until your tattoo is finished, or when you reach a strategic stopping point for the day, if your project takes multiple days. You’ll also take short breaks throughout the day, and usually a break for lunch.
Typically, this takes up about 6-8 hours of needle-to-skin time.
-
Full sleeves (or large projects like back pieces) can take anywhere from 5-10+ sessions of tattooing, depending on the style, design, the amount coverage you’re wanting, etc.
Sessions can be done 2-3 days in a row, but are typically spaced out over weeks or months. Your artist will work with you to make sure between sessions, you still have a stunning tattoo you can be proud of. You do not have to do the whole sleeve at once—it’s very common for our clients to build full sleeves over time.
-
Because our artists are designing for custom projects nearly every day, they typically won’t start your design until the night before or the morning of the tattoo. For this reason, we don’t send designs in advance.
When you arrive, your artist will have a draft of your design ready to show you based on all the details discussed with the booking team. You’ll be able to make adjustments with your artist to make sure it’s exactly what you’re wanting.
-
Our inquiry process is very carefully crafted so you, the booking team, and the artist, are all in full alignment for your piece. Consultations aren’t always necessary—but if you’d prefer one, we’re happy to set one up! Just let us know during the booking process.
-
It depends on your piece and artist, but we typically book 1-5 months in advance. We’ll do our best to work with your availability!
-
Yes—we require a nonrefundable deposit to reserve a date on the calendar.
