Bayou Nouveau

The client asked for a horned woman leaning against an alligator floating in a swamp, in an ornate gold frame, in the style of Mucha. Willow gives her a bayou at sunset: Spanish moss, cypress, a heron on the far bank, water lilies breaking over the bottom of the frame. The arch above her head is the real piece of Art Nouveau engineering, a row of flat colored discs that steps from orange through red to violet and pulls the sunset up over the top of the design. Her skin is a cool green and the gown is warm pink, which is what keeps her separate from the water behind her. By Willow Webber.
