Stone Fairy

Taylor’s client is a tattoo artist herself and owns a shop called Stone Fairy, so when she asked for a fairy, she wanted something that felt carved rather than drawn. She sent statue references for the pose, with the softness and femininity of classical sculpture being the main inspiration. Taylor added butterfly wings, a halo behind her head, and a rose held against her chest, with two more roses flowing down the forearm. Everything was kept soft and mostly grey to give the piece that marble-like feel, while the darker wings add contrast and help anchor the design. Two sessions, finished June 2026. By Taylor Phelps.
