The Author's Characters

Work in progress. Sam's collector is an author, and this arm is being built around characters from his own books, swirling in smoke and fog down toward the tip of a pen in the author's hand. This section shows a vampire couple styled after 1950s Italy, with blood at their lips and her bright red hair making them unmistakable, and a Vietnam War veteran rising out of the smoke below. Sam is working it in color realism with a surreal flow, letting the figures overlap and fade into the fog so the whole arm reads as one story. Five sessions so far. By Sam McAleese.
