The client is a knitter, and she came in asking for a Greek figure holding yarn: Athena, Penelope, Ariadne, one of the Fates, she was flexible about which. What she left with goes further back in the supply chain, before yarn is created. Nadia moved the idea out of mythology and into an alpine pasture, where the woman stands in a dirndl among the sheep the wool actually comes from, lit like a vintage travel poster. The palette carries the depth: cool violet peaks pushed back behind warm green foreground, with the red trim on her apron pulling the eye down to her hands. Done over two consecutive days.
