Tiger in the Ginkgo

Taylor's collector asked for a ginkgo branch and a full body tiger. The most interesting design choice made is the scale of the design. The ginkgo leaves are tattooed far larger than life, big enough that the tiger reads as small walking down through them, which turns a forearm into something with depth rather than a flat panel. Taylor shades the whole thing in soft stipple with almost no hard outline, so the stripes fade into the grey rather than fencing it in. The leaves get the darkest values in the piece, which is backwards from how you'd expect it and is exactly why the cat sits forward. By Taylor Phelps.
