White Dahlia

Mark's very first tattoo as a resident artist at Eden, this stunning piece features a dynamic white dahlia flower. The difficulty of this subject cannot be understated: dahlias, as with all flowers with a large number of petals, require an expert hand to render detail in a way that doesn't make it look busy. The "white" flower adds an additional layer of technical challenge: rather than being rendered in white ink, white flowers paradoxically require the most colors. Mark uses a vibrant blend of pinks, peaches, and deep blacks, showcasing painterly qualities and dimensional colors. This piece is perfectly placed on the chest, adding to the collector's large body of work, including full arm and leg sleeves and a back piece. By Mark Wade.
