Beloved

This was the collector's first tattoo. Taylor rendered the Winged Victory of Samothrace from the Louvre in her signature soft, peppery black and grey, set against a stippled panel with BELOVED lettered across the top. The word comes from the children's book You Are Special, where the stars and grey dots other people hand out can't stick to someone who knows they're beloved. Taylor kept the piece compact and upright on the back of the arm so the statue stands with the line of the body. One session. By Taylor Phelps.
