Crow Among the Protea

Nicole's collector came in for a cover-up and asked for a black crow among protea, thistle and cactus, with bees worked in. Nicole built the piece around the crow, rendered with iridescent blues and purples in its feathers, and gathered pink and red protea at its chest with a flowering cactus on one side and thistle rising toward the shoulder. She carried the composition from the chest up over the collarbone, with a bumblebee at the top, so it follows the line of the shoulder. Two sessions, September 2026. By Nicole L.
