Crown of Thorns

Ramon's collector gave him the elements and the freedom to arrange them, and Ramon opens the project with a skull crowned in thorns on the forearm. He sets the crown high near the elbow and lets the thorns break the outline at the top, which stops the piece reading as a panel stuck onto the arm. The skull faces out and slightly down, so it meets the eye when the arm hangs at rest. He holds the deepest black in the shroud behind, and the bone stays the brightest thing in the design. This is the first session of a sleeve and half torso estimated at eight to eleven. By Ramon Rodrigo.
