First Dive

This piece marks a couple's first scuba dive together, in Hawaii. Demir built the scene around a sea turtle swimming up across the left shoulder blade, with a mahi-mahi, a small seal and reef fish from Hawaiian waters around it. The collector plans to keep adding to it as the dives go on. Demir angled the turtle and the shafts of light up toward the shoulder to give the piece lift and keep it moving with the body.
