Golden Coils

Deanna James and Demir collaborated on this full leg for a collector who had long wanted to work with Deanna and traveled from Nashville to mark a 50th birthday. The collector gave both artists full creative freedom. They built the piece around a woman wreathed in golden serpents, with a hand closing around a red apple near the shin. The snakes and leaves were designed to coil and travel from the thigh down to the ankle so the whole composition flows with the leg. Three sessions, finished in September 2026.
