Heirloom Garden

Lilian Raya grows a tomato and pepper plant up the shin, from tangled roots at the ankle to white blossoms near the knee, and lets it climb straight up the leg to follow the line of the bone. Heirloom tomatoes in purple, red and blue sit beside chiles in red, green and orange, and Lilian tops the plant with a small Mexican flag. By Lilian Raya.
