Medusa

This tattoo features Jon's interpretation of Medusa. Done over two back to back days, the client wanted the tattoo as a symbol of resistance, female strength, and vengeance. The design itself is beautifully crafted; rather than making the hair from numerous small snakes, Jon enlarges them, making them more dynamic, and using them, the hair, and the wisps of negative space to create flow on the thigh. Done completely in Jon's pepper-shading, 3-round liner style, the smoothness he's able to achieve in the portrait are a testament to his technical abilities. By Jon LaFlore.
