Rose and Dagger II

Part of Cass's summer 2025 premade design drop, this is a series of two tattoos featuring dynamic, painterly roses with ornate daggers piercing through them, designed specifically for the side of the lower leg. This tattoo, the second of the series, features a peachy-colored rose with white outer petals. The "white" effect is not created with white ink, but rather, more complex and darker colors to create the illusion of white. Paradoxically, white flowers often contain the most colors, making them challenging for many tattoo artists; Cass executes this perfectly. The s-shape flow in this design is created with the leaves, and Cass orients the direction of the rose to create anti-flow, resulting in a dynamic composition. In contrast to the other work in the series, the gold in the hilt is brighter, appropriately fitting the value of the rose. The fine detail in the hilt makes for a realistic, bright look.
