Zeus and the Hourglass

Monica's collector left the design to her, and she builds the full sleeve as a cover-up with Zeus on the shoulder, where there's the most room for him. She wraps the lightning around the arm rather than straight down it, so the bolts move with the sleeve as it turns. The hourglass sits low on the forearm and repeats that lightning inside the glass, which links the two ends of the sleeve together. Monica holds the palette in cool blues against warm skin tones so the figure carries against the dark ground behind him. Three sessions so far. By Monica Snyder.
