WHAT MAKES ZAHHAR A STANDOUT REALISM ARTIST?

A PAINTER'S TRAINING, PROVEN ON THE CONVENTION CIRCUIT
Zahhar started oil painting at eight and studied drawing, painting and sculpture in art school long before he picked up a tattoo machine. That's where the painterly light, depth and layered color in his realism come from. In 7 years of tattooing, he's trained with artists including Andrei Kolbasin and Torsten Malm, won Best of Show at a tattoo festival in Estonia, judged at Street Mirror Tattoo Expo, and been featured in Global Tattoo Mag and Tattoo Legends. He's tattooed at conventions and guest spots in Estonia, Germany, Finland and the UK.

FACES, CHARACTERS AND WHOLE SCENES
Faces are Zahhar's biggest passion: portraits, characters from film, TV and animation, and figures pulled from classical paintings. Animals get the same depth and personality. He builds a scene around the subject, with movement in the background and objects in motion, so the piece reads like a moment in a story instead of a static image.

DESIGNED FOR YOUR BODY, IN COLOR OR GREY WASH
Zahhar designs around your anatomy, so the tattoo follows every curve instead of sitting on the skin like a sticker. He starts with one or two large elements you can read from across a room, then builds the supporting pieces, background and flow around them. Bring him your idea and he'll create the design himself. He works in full color, black and grey, grey wash, or black and grey with pops of color. He pushes the contrast and sharpens the most important areas so your tattoo stays bold and readable as it ages.
