Garden Iguana
Monica's collector named the Miami Gardens sign and the hibiscus as his must-haves, and Monica wraps the forearm as one continuous scene, giving each face of the arm its own subject. On this side she sets an iguana climbing through hibiscus and palm, angled so the body follows the curve of the forearm rather than cutting across it. She works the whole thing in black and grey with a warm wash, then places a single small red ankh at the wrist as the one point of color. One session for each side of the forearm. By Monica Snyder.
